Reef Encounter is a leading SSI Dive Training Facility and our Rescue Instructors are all experienced Dive Professional Trainers, ensuring you get the most out of your course and your diving holiday. All training is done from Reef Encounter, cutting out the need to travel to classroom and pool facilities.
The course entails both in-water training and academic theory sessions. You will be required to read an SSI Stress and Rescue manual and sit a multiple choice exam.

How long does it take and what’s included?
An SSI Stress and Rescue Course onboard Reef Encounter takes 4 days (3 nights) to complete. Included in your Reef Encounter Stress and Rescue package is a First Aid and CPR Course, which takes one day on land in Cairns to complete and can be booked through our office – As a prerequisite for certification you need to have a valid CPR & First Aid certificate.
On a Stress and Rescue Course trip you may complete up to 14 dives, including both training dives and fun day/night dives. Food, accommodation, scuba equipment hire and tuition are all included in your trip and provided onboard M.V. Reef Encounter – Our premier choice dive boat!

Optional extras are wetsuits and dive torches if you require them, which are available for hire onboard. Prescription lens masks are also available for hire.
