Saxon Reef is a patch reef on the Outer Barrier Reef. It is located approximately 55km northeast of Cairns.
Boasting a wide variety of marine life, common sightings at Saxon Reef include: white-tip reef sharks, diagonally-banded sweetlips, barramundi cod, and dozens of species of wrasse, parrotfish and butterflyfish.
The lagoon area of this reef is peppered with smaller bommies and giant boulder corals. The varied seascape creates a fascinating underwater world for you to explore.
